General Description The Tax Department at Aircastle is seeking a Tax Intern to support the team with various tax compliance and reporting activities. This internship provides hands-on exposure to corporate tax functions, including indirect and direct tax processes such as VAT, Sales & Use, and U.S. and international tax compliance. The role is designed to provide meaningful learning opportunities while supporting the day-to-day operations of the Tax team. Responsibilities Essential Functions: Prepare transaction write-ups (generally 10 to 15 transactions per quarter) and summarize in templates for auditors with supporting documentation Support the preparation of VAT filings for international jurisdictions under the supervision of the Tax team. Assist with the preparation of Sales & Use tax returns. Support reconciliations related to tax basis, fixed assets and depreciation schedules. Help respond to internal requests for tax-related data and analyses. Help track notices from taxing authorities and assist with preparing responses under supervision. Provide support during federal, state, local, and foreign tax audits as needed. Perform general administrative and analytical support for the Tax team on ad hoc projects. Position Requirements Formal Education and Certification Junior currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation or a related field Knowledge and Experience Prior internship or coursework related to accounting or taxation preferred. Basic understanding of federal and state taxation concepts; exposure to international or indirect taxes is a plus. Strong interest in developing a career in tax or accounting. Competencies Proficient in Microsoft Excel Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines Excellent reading, writing, comprehension & summarizing skills Excellent communication skills Proactive, dependable, and eager to learn in a professional setting Travel This position does not require travel.
