Job Description:

Nesco is seeking a CAD Engineer to join our client's team at their Stratford, CT location. As new products are developed, the CAD Engineer will learn how products are installed and tested in the lab to ensure they meet all safety standards. RESPONSIBILITIES: Product and secondary tooling design (Zinc Die Casting and Progressive Stamping Tool and Die Making). Perform CAD work on new items and tooling, existing tooling, product and plant drawings - SolidWorks CAD and Autodesk Vault knowledge is a necessity. Test manufactured and prototype products (perform hands-on testing of new products in the lab and provide detailed reports). Provide technical support to inside and outside sales force. Evaluating Product Manufacturing feasibility. Automation design to create assemblies. Creating and updating BOMs, Engineering Change and Label Change notices. Interacting with Department Supervisors to evaluate and improve manufacturing processes and procedures, some vendor contact. Analyze and react to trends in the electrical fittings market, changes to National Electrical Code, and revisions to Underwriters Laboratories standards. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred and/or 5+ years of experience in engineering; will consider candidates with technical school degrees Ability to converse and explain product knowledge to customers and sales force
