Job Description:
J.R. Merritt Controls, located in Stratford CT, has been a
leading voice in the evolution of industrial control and human
interface solutions since the mid-1980's. For over 30 years, we've

We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to
join our team at our facility in Stratford, CT. In this role, you
will lead new product development and enhance existing products
from conception to production. Working closely with Sales &
Marketing, you will create concepts based off of product
specifications, customer needs and market feedback. Additional
responsibilities include:
Perform full lifecycle product development on new products (design,
develop, create prototypes, manufacture and implement) and
continuous improvement of existing products.
Requirements
You have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with at
least 5 years of commercial experience in product design and
development, mechanics, kinematics and materials. You are fluent in
3D with Solidworks and in 2D with AutoCAD. Due to your experience,
you have a working knowledge of the manufacturing of plastic
injection molded parts, stamped parts, and die cast parts, as well
as a demonstrated knowledge of machine shop practices, molding,
press working, and GD&T. Your strong communication,
interpersonal, and project management skills allow you to
communicate and coordinate with a team while designing with regards
to cost, manufacturability and quality constraints.
