Room Nurse Manager, you will provide 24/7 leadership and
accountability for unit operations and staff performance. You will
partner with nursing leadership to develop strategic goals aligned
with the organization’s mission, vision, and values, and
communicate objectives clearly to build consensus and guide your
team toward achieving departmental goals. You will foster a healing
environment that promotes patient- and family-centered care while
creating a professional workplace that encourages respect,
engagement, accountability, and optimal outcomes. Responsibilities
Champion evidence-based, ethical, and compassionate practices.
Manage staffing needs for the unit and collaborate with HR on
recruitment and requirements. Offer guidance and direction to team
members and supervisors. Oversee performance evaluations,
promotions, compensation decisions, and corrective actions. Serve
as a role model for clinical, educational, and leadership
standards. Assist team members with career development planning.
Educate staff on new and existing departmental procedures and
systems, including technology and fiscal responsibilities. Manage
the unit’s budget, monitor expenditures, and implement corrective
actions for variances. Track and analyze performance metrics to
drive continuous improvement. Ensure adherence to established care
delivery models and professional practice standards. Maintain
compliance with all applicable regulations and organizational
policies. Demonstrate current clinical knowledge relevant to the
patient population served. Stay informed on healthcare legislation,
standards of practice, and population health trends. Identify and
lead initiatives to improve operations using evidence-based
strategies. Perform related duties as required to support unit and
organizational objectives. Essential Skills Active Registered Nurse
license in New York State required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing
required; Master’s degree preferred. 6–8 years of General Operating
Room / Abdominal Transplant / Robotics nursing experience. 2–5
years in a leadership or management role required. Minimum 2 years
of Operating Room experience required. Additional Skills &
Qualifications CNOR certification preferred. Relevant specialty
certifications as applicable. Prior experience working for a
reputable hospital. Experience in a non-union based position. Work
Environment You will work out of the new Petrocelli Surgical
Pavilion (opened in 2024) , overseeing a team of nurses, surgical
techs, anesthesia techs, and peri-operative assistants. The work
environment includes: An 800 bed hospital with a 48-room operating
suite . Two Assistant Nurse Managers reporting to you, with
oversight of 20–25 employees . Hospital ranked 1 in NY State and
the New York Metropolitan Region , and a U.S. News Best Hospitals
Honor Roll Recipient . 4-day work week (10-hour shifts) with
flexibility to adjust based on hospital needs; on-call 24/7
required. Location less than 2 miles from Queens , offering options
to live in NYC or Long Island suburbs. Job Type & Location This is
a Permanent position based out of Manhasset, NY. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $200000.00/yr. Why
