Job Description:

Albany Medical Center, renowned for its advancements in medical education, research, and patient care, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Adult STAT Registered Nurse (RN) for our Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU). This role involves working 36 hours per week during the night shift and requires high adaptability and intricate understanding of critical care procedures. The MICU nurse will manage complex patient cases and adhere to high standards of patient care. This is an essential role in our ever-evolving healthcare facility, designed for a nurse who thrives in dynamic, critical care environments. Provide direct and comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients within the MICU. Monitor patient conditions continuously and react swiftly to any changes in health status. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to formulate patient care plans. Educate patients and their families about disease processes and the care required during hospitalization and post-discharge. Maintain accurate patient records and administer medications accordingly. Implement infection-control protocols and contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the unit. Exceptional ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strong competency in using medical technologies required for intensive care. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Empathy and resilience in caring for critically ill patients. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). Certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) preferred.
