The Instrumentation Engineering organization seeks to grow the
group's Instrumentation test support and calibration capabilities.
The candidate will join a dynamic engineering group that works on
test projects involved in the development of new rotorcraft and
The candidate can expect to work with the Test Engineering
Department and/or other customers providing measurement data for
use in development programs. Responsibilities include the
following: Selection of instrumentation sensors for use with an
appropriate data system with consideration to measurement type,
range, frequency, accuracy and sensitivity. Provide technician
instructions and drawings to support the preparation, installation,
check-out and operation of the selected instrumentation sensors and
In addition, the candidate may expect the following: Apply
mathematics, computer science, and physics to develop, document,
and maintain calibration systems, procedures, and methods for
electrical, dimensional, optical, and mechanical test equipment.
Analyze measurement problems with consideration to accuracy,
resolution, and precision. Evaluate new calibration methods and
procedures. Use statistical tools to analyze the quality of
measurement standards and processes. Maintain calibration standards
and maintain calibration laboratory and /or quality systems.
B.S. degree with a major in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical
Engineering, or Physics preferred. Desirable would be a minor in
math or computer science.
This is an entry level position; however, it is preferable if
the candidate has some background and/or knowledge of calibration
techniques, calibration standards, test instrumentation, electronic
principles, data acquisition technologies, sensor technologies, and
knowledge of computer-based data systems. Knowledge of VBA, Python,
Matlab, HBM Catman, nCode Glyphworks, Access, are a plus.
