Position Overview Diligent is looking for a driven, analytical leader to establish and grow its Market Research & Customer Insights practice. The Director will establish a best-in-class market research function and build a robust Voice of Customer practice inside of Diligent, bringing customer insights, market intelligence, and competitive landscape to the commercial and product teams to influence marketing campaigns, content strategy, sales activity, and help drive the strategic roadmap.Reporting to the VP of Product Marketing, this is a leadership role and the Director will help build out this new function as we grow in the future. Leveraging outside contractors for support in 2021, the scope will grow over 2021 and into 2022 as Diligent integrates its new acquisitions and establishes itself in the rapidly-shifting Governance, Risk, & Compliance (GRC) market. The Director is passionate about using research to provide high-quality insights across the organization and is a masterful communicator, comfortable presenting findings across the organization from product managers and marketers to the CEO and commercial leaders. Candidates will have experience managing across several facets of research, including large quantitative research studies, working with external vendors, collaborating with the UX / Design team to inform market and user research studies, be comfortable running qualitative research studies in-house, building out a Voice of Customer (VOC) practice, and/or running customer advisory boards.This is a great opportunity to establish a new function in a rapidly growing company that is defining a new market in close collaboration with its customers. Key Responsibilities Scope, conduct, and oversee our Net Promoter Scores (NPS) and Customer Satisfaction (CSAT) surveys in partnership with an outside research agencyChampion our Voice of the Customer (VOC) and Customer Advisory Board activities, including creating a replicable framework for the product marketers to leverage across all personasDrive our competitive research strategy in partnership with internal stakeholders and external support, communicating key findings across the marketing and product management teamsManage day to day operations with vendors and outside agencies to synthesize and deliver key findings and action items for the teamHelp develop and implement new strategy for our market and customer research, driving alignment across Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Product Management and SupportLead a set cadence of research and analysis, either independently or with partners, to provide recommendations that influence Product, Marketing, and Go to Market (GTM) strategyPartner with Product & Content Marketing leaders to manage relationships with senior stakeholders, collect and incorporate feedback, and deliver insights that serve Diligent prioritiesBuild and maintain a central repository of Market & Customer Insights (e.g., competitive intelligence) across Diligent teams, acting as the expert and communicator of all updatesPartner with Product & Sales Enablement to influence the Commercial motionDevelop a format and cadence to communicate all Market & Customer findings to teams across the globe with templates for Sales Enablement, Product Marketing, and Regional teams to liftLeverage expertise to support additional Data & Intelligence-related Product Marketing workDemonstrate commitment to the function by increasing key metrics for Diligent, such as NPS and CSAT scoresSuccessfully integrate brand and product research Required Skills/Experience: Bachelors degree in Business or Marketing or equivalent work experience8-10 years of experience in a similar role, preferably at a B2B SaaS companyPreferred experience in survey creation, analysis, and segmentationAbility to grasp and simplify complex industry, product, and customer conceptsAbility to build relationships and work effectively with executive leaders across functionsAbility to present clear, actionable insights that guide company and customer decisionsAbility to work backwards from customer needs to deliver meaningful insightsAbility to oversee multiple workstreams and execute all tasks, large or smallInterest in partnering with Product & Sales Enablement to influence the Commercial motionProven track record of partnering with external agenciesPositive, energetic attitude and initiative, with strong work ethicStrong interpersonal and communication skillsBias towards critical thinking, expertise, and action FSLA Status: Exempt Diligent offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including health, vision, dental, 401k with a strong match, health club reimbursement and much more.We are a drug free workplace, and an equal opportunity employer.
