          Supplier Quality Engineer Sr

          Job ID: 553218BR Date posted: Mar. 29, 2021 Locations: Stratford, Connecticut Description:RMS Sikorsky LOB Supply Quality Organization is expanding the organization with a redefined role for Supplier Quality support in order to improve the early identification and mitigation of risks with our suppliers to meet customer expectation. The position will require working flexible hours and travel out of the assigned geographical area to related activities across the United States and possibly International trips.
          Job Description:
          This Senior Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) position will tactically support product center(s) which may include aerostructures, avionics, blades, or dynamics and be the point of contact for assigned product center in conjunction with being supplier quality POC for product centers suppliers of interest. Specific product center will be determined based on operation needs and best fit of candidates skills and experience. The position will be located in Stratford, CT. The SQE will be responsible for support throughout the product life cycle from issue identification, receiving activities and through tactical resolution to meet customer expectations. The SQE will provide support through identification and implementation of process improvement activities that support Supplier Quality Organizations key performance measurements, vision and strategy. The SQE role and responsibilities include but are not be limited to:

          Work with product center / area production QMs and QEs to resolve supplier RCA and identifying continuous improvement opportunities
          Ability to identify and lead collaborative SQA efforts.
          POC for assigned product center, commodity, and suppliers to handle the daily tactical supplier quality activities to ensure issues are identified and handled through to resolution.
          Monitor assigned supplier performance utilizing metrics
          Participate as required in supplier's failure diagnostic investigation
          Perform on-going surveillance of supplier's conformance to contract requirements and flowdown requirements.
          Provide technical liaison support.
          Develop partnership with supplier chain resource with supplier account to develop and execute on applicable action plans.
          Monitor supplier recovery action plans and proactively identify potential gaps
          Awareness of AS9100 and AS9102 requirements when dealing with suppliers related to handling of RCA for identified defects, first articles and product line variations.
          Take ownership and responsibility for critical processes within SQA organization
          Develop and utilize daily analytics to proactively address and identify trends
          Work with supplier counterpart on resolution of supplier quality issues.
          Report out to management and customer root cause and corrective actions. Drive lessons learned and best practices across other product centers.
          Supporting the execution and achievement of all applicable Lockheed Martin, RMS and RMS Sikorsky business objectives.
          Support production readiness reviews, risk-based supplier assessments (RBATs), and supplier enhanced audits (SEAs),
          Support and/or manage special projects as required
          Analyze effectiveness of supplier root cause and corrective actions to eliminate repeat escapes.
          Basic Qualifications:
          Engineering degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education, with professional experience and specialized training commensurate with assignment.
          Demonstrated ability to make critical decisions, set priorities and provide succinct direction in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
          Experience developing and maintaining positive working relationships with suppliers, internal and external customers.
          Strong working knowledge of problem solving/root cause analysis and process management.
          Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written with all levels of management and customer
          Ability to data mine and present quantitatively to objectively state current activity
          Experience multi-tasking while working challenging projects from start to finish
          Has desired skills, meets requirements of job description and ability to take initiative
          Clear and concise communication and writing skills
          Ability to travel on short notice up to 25%
          Six Sigma Green belt
          Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerances
          Experience using SAP, Solumina, P2P, MRB
          Ability to multitask and meet scheduled due dates.
          Desired Skills:
          Experience with team building skills
          Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent experience
          AS9100 Lead Auditor or equivalent
          Demonstrated ability to drive process improvement and drive change.
          Knowledge of Supplier Quality, and Quality Engineering
          Strong communication skills including the ability to interface effectively with executive leadership on tactical issues affecting the quality of products delivered.
          Experience utilizing Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma principles.
          Ability to read and interpret drawings and industry/LOB specifications
          Understanding of rotorcraft manufacturing processes
          Prior experience working in production operations within an aerospace/rotorcraft environment
          Ability to effectively deliver presentations to all levels of management
          Self-starter with excellent time management skills
