Posting Summary There is a postdoc position available in Dr.
Alison Bernstein’s lab in the Department of Pharmacology and
Toxicology, Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences
Institute ( EOHSI )/Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy, Rutgers
University. This position is funded by grants from the National
Institute of Environmental Health ( NIEHS ) and National Institute
of Neurological Disorders and Stroke ( NINDS ). Dr. Bernstein’s
research focuses on the role of epigenetics and the environment in
the etiology of sporadic Parkinson’s disease. The candidate will
focus on 1-2 of the following projects: (1) epigenetic analysis in
a mouse models of Parkinson’s disease related exposures, (2)
elucidating molecular mechanisms of pesticide-induced changes in
DNA methylation in a 3D neurosphere model in vitro, and (3)
characterizing molecular mechanisms underlying increased
susceptibility in an in vivo two-hit exposure model of Parkinson’s
disease. Rutgers University is one of the largest research
universities and has outstanding resources and facilities that
support state-of-the-art research. Both Dr. Bernstein’s home
department and EOHSI are nationally and internationally recognized
for their basic and clinical research on pharmacology, toxicology,
and exposure science. Dr. Bernstein’s research team has access to
outstanding facilities of Genomics, Genetics, Proteomics, Confocal
and high-content imaging, Histopathology, Analytical Chemistry,
Flow Cytometry, etc. Rutgers University provides an excellent
